Itinerary
Delhi – Haridwar (250 km / 6 hours approx.)
This holy and exciting tour of Haridwar Rishikesh will start from Delhi, the capital of India. On arrival in Delhi the travel representative of NIBT Holidays will greet you in an Indian style with utmost courtesy and will transfer you to Haridwar by road trip in private vehicle. Haridwar is the city of seven most sacred and famous Hindu temples of India which is visited by a large number of devotees every year. The city hosts the world famous Kumbh Mela which is attended by lakhs of visitors from across the country.
On arrival at Haridwar, complete the hotel check in formalities. After refreshing yourself, you are now free to explore the surroundings and beauty of the city. The rest of the afternoon is at your leisure.
In the evening, attend the grand Ganga Aarti by visiting Har ki Pauri, the largest holy bathing ghat in Haridwar and be mesmerized by the chants of holy prayers. Haridwar to Rishikesh + Neelkanth S.T.A. Basis (40 km / 1 hrs)
Wake up in the morning and get refreshed by bathing in holy water in Haridwar. After having a pure veg breakfast in Haridwar, complete the check-out formalities and proceed towards the yoga capital Rishikesh. Before reaching Rishikesh, visit Chandi Devi Temple, which is situated on top of Neel Parvat on Shivalik Hills in Haridwar. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Chandi and is highly revered by the devotees as a Siddha Peeth. After that go to Mansa Devi temple by cable car (by paying extra). The temple is situated on top of the Bilwa Parvat on the Shivalik Hills. It is the holy abode of Goddess Mansa Devi who is a form of Goddess Shakti. Enjoy the panoramic view of Haridwar during the cable car ride. Upon arrival at Rishikesh complete the formality of check in at hotel or tent, later you will visit Neelkanth Mahadev Temple, which is located about 32 km from Rishikesh in Pauri Garhwal district. Established at an altitude of 1330 m, Neelkanth Mahadev Temple is one of the most sacred temples of Lord Shiva in the region. According to Indian mythology, the temple is currently located at the same spot where Lord Shiva consumed the poison produced by the churning of the ocean which turned his throat blue. Thus, this incident gave the name of Neelkanth to Lord Shiva. Get the blessings of Lord Shiva and later visit Lakshman Jhula, Ram Jhula, Triveni Ghat etc. Rishikesh is famous for offering beautiful views of lush green and serene forests. In the Ramayana era, the Hindu deity Lakshmana, brother of Lord Rama, crossed the Ganges on jute ropes, which is known as the Lakshman Jhula bridge. Rishikesh – Delhi Departure
This is the last day of Haridwar Rishikesh tour. After enjoying breakfast in the morning, complete the check-out formalities. When you have time, enjoy river rafting at your own expense.
